Menus and FSM Information

All infant children are entitled to a prepared school lunch at no charge. This is funding that the Government has introduced to schools under the ‘Universal Free School Meals’ scheme. Our meals are prepared on site each day by our wonderful catering team. The children can select from three different choices each day, and will order this during registration time.

Whilst you may opt to send your child to school with a packed lunch, as a 'Healthy School', it is our responsibility to ensure the children in our care eat a balanced diet. Please remember we are a "NO NUT" school.

We will endeavour to cater for all of your child’s dietary needs. If you have any concerns regarding this, please do not hesitate to contact office@tais.leics.sch.uk

Free School Meals

From the start of the 2026-2027 academic year, the government is expanding the FSM eligibility to all children from households in receipt of Universal Credit regardless of household earnings.

Free School Meals will be available to pupils in receipt of, or whose parents are in receipt of, one or more of the following benefits:

  • Universal Credit
  • support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999

A pupil is only eligible to receive a free school meal where both:

  • a claim for this support has been made
  • their eligibility has been verified by the local authority

Households may also be entitled to a free school meal if they:

  • are in receipt of income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • receive the ‘guarantee’ element of Pension Credit
  • meet criteria set out in separate guidance for families with no recourse to public funds

From 1st June 2026, the local authority will be accepting applications from parents who now meet this new criteria.  Please apply online via https://leicestershire.cloud.servelec-synergy.com/Synergy/ using your Leicestershire County Council Parent Portal log in details, or ring 0116 3055417.

Households in receipt of Universal Credit with annual household earnings of £7,400 or less, will also be eligible for Pupil Premium.  If households fall into this Targeted FSM category, school can help with items such as school uniform, trips etc.  Please contact the school bursar for more information.

The local authority will undertake annual eligibility checks for those in receipt of FSM, and contact families/schools of any changes.
